A major barrier to entry for many graphic designers and creative professionals to upgrade to Mac OS X will be lowered soon: Quark Inc. announced Tuesday that it will ship QuarkXPress for Mac OS X next week.

The Mac OS X Public Beta (internally code named "Kodiak") was the first publicly available version of Apple Computer's Mac OS X (now named macOS) operating system to feature the Aqua user interface. It was released to the public on September 13, 2000 for US$29.95.

Mac OS X v10.0 was the first completed release of Mac OS X. It became available in March 2001.

Entourage 2001

Microsoft Entourage is a discontinued e-mail client and personal information manager that was developed by Microsoft for Mac OS 8.5 and later. Microsoft first released Entourage in October 2000 as part of the Microsoft Office 2001 office suite; Office 98, the previous version of Microsoft Office for the classic Mac OS included Outlook Express 5.

Office 2001 was the first time Entourage was released. It featured a calendar, to-do list, email and address book all into one. Entourage also let users transfer all of their information from these features onto corresponding applications on a Palm device.

Office 2001

Microsoft Office 2001 is a suite of productivity software for Mac OS 8, Mac OS 9, or the Classic environment in Mac OS X. It is the Mac equivalent of Office 2000. It was developed by Microsoft and announced on September 13, 2000 before its release on October 11, 2000.

Mac OS 8.1 through 9.2.2; through Mac OS X 10.4 using Classic environment

Support for Office 2001 ended on December 31, 2005.

This release is identical to system 6.0.7 but comes configured with the System 7 printing software so that System 6 and System 7 Macintosh computers can share the same LaserWriter in a compatible way. It contains no new features or bug fixes. Apple is releasing system 6.0.8 to provide an easy, system 7 printer compatible release of System 6 software so that users are automatically able to share printers across the network with users of system 7. System software 6.0.8 will be made available at authorized Apple dealers along with bulletin board services and user groups licensed to distribute Apple system software.
